Turkey's IT Giant Türk Telekom

Turkey's IT Giant Türk Telekom

Türk Telekom Provides Services in Many Areas

Since 1840, Turkey's telecommunications facilities have been provided by the pioneer Türk Telekom. The company offers integrated services such as landline, GSM, broadband internet, ADSL, and fiber optics. Unfortunately, with its privatization in 2005, it was exposed to market conditions, and the communication network was endangered. Additionally, according to 2011 data, it manages over 15 million landlines, more than 6 million ADSL, and over 11 million GSM subscribers through its group companies. With privatization and a competitive approach, Türk Telekom is the largest firm in terms of market share, and its quality, service understanding, and customer approach are based on its deep-rooted history.

Türk Telekom Shares Were Offered to the Public

55% of the company's shares belong to Ojer Telekomünikasyon, 30% to the Undersecretariat of Treasury, and the remaining 15% has been offered to the public. The shares have been traded on Borsa İstanbul (BIST) since May 2008. Moving with the mission of "bringing the newest communication technologies to Turkey," the company is confidently advancing towards illuminating the future and becoming Turkey's leading IT firm.
