Turkey will go to a new election on November 1st. With little time left until the elections, the work carried out by an association called Oy ve Ötesi is attracting attention. Problems such as vote theft and burnt ballot papers experienced in previous elections did not occur in the June 7th elections. One of the most important reasons for this is the volunteer poll observers through the association called Oy ve Ötesi.
What is Oy ve Ötesi?Oy ve Ötesi is a completely civil initiative. It is an association composed entirely of volunteer citizens. It has no affiliation with any political party. Oy ve Ötesi, which previously consisted of a handful of volunteers and carried out its work in this way, became an association and gained legal personality on April 24, 2014. Oy ve Ötesi, which developed as a movement against injustices at the ballot box, continues to be one of the rare organizations where people of all views can come together today.
